Library computer classes restart in September!
Opportunities in the Area
Bay Area Seniors Computer Club (BASCC) - ou must be 50 yrs of age or more to join. Dues are $12 for individuals and $18 for couples per year. Meetings are at the Gloria Dei Lutheran Church on Thompson Ave., and are on the 1st and 3rd Friday of each month at 9:30 a.m. for the Social Hour and 10:00 a.m. for the meeting. BASCC offers a variety of classes on an as-needed basis, either at its own computer lab or at other locations. The class size is usually 4-6 learners.
Coquille Valley Senior's Computer Club (CVSCC) - The Coquille Valley Senior Computer Club meets at 7:00 pm on the 2nd and 4th Monday of each month at the Coquille High School Library. Our meetings are a combination of social and technical interaction. We strive to provide something of interest to all levels of computer ability. All seniors who are at least 55 years young are welcome. If you have an interest in computers, come visit us or call Bob Kimball (396-4971) for more information.
The next meeting will be September 12th. Membership fees are $12.00 per year for singles, $18.00 per year for couples. Feel free to attend a meeting before joining.
North Bend Public Library - Each class is offered every few months. Please call Dianne at 756-0400 if you would like to be notified when a workshop is scheduled. Their main offerings are; Surfing the Coastline, Basic Internet Searching, and Useful Internet Websites Workshop.
Southwestern Oregon Community College - Adult non-credit classes to introduce you to Windows, word processing, Internet, Email and more. The college will again offer classes in the fall term and will be listed in the next newsletter. You may also pick up a copy of the fall term schedule and look under "Adult Learning Skills Program" although that is not a complete list of what they plan to offer.
