Current Class Schedule

MAY

May 5th (Thursday) - Introduction to the Mouse. Class is 9-10:30 a.m., please be at front door by 8:45a.m.
May 19th (Thursday) - Intro to the Internet. Class is 9-10:30 a.m., please be at front door by 8:45a.m.
May 26th & 27th (Thursday & Friday) - How to sign up and use free email. Class is 9-10:30 a.m., please be at front door by 8:45 a.m.

Opportunities in the Area

Bay Area Seniors Computer Club (BASCC) - You must be 50 yrs of age or more to join. Dues are $12 for individuals and $18 for couples per year. Meetings are at the Gloria Dei Lutheran Church on Thompson Ave., and are on the 1st and 3rd Friday of each month at 9:30a.m. for the Social Hour and 10:00a.m. for the meeting. BASCC offers a variety of classes on an as-needed basis, either at its own computer lab or at other locations. The class size is usually 4-6 learners.

Coquille Valley Senior's Computer Club (CVSCC) - Meets the 2nd and 4th Mondays, at 7 p.m. in the Coquille High School Library. Contact person: Clarence Elliot, 396-1704, caelliott@earthlink.net Must be 55+, membership fees are $12.00 per year for singles, $18.00 per year for couples. Feel free to attend a meeting before joining. NOTE: May move to new locations in future where they will be able to offer classes.

North Bend Public Library - Each class is offered every few months. Please call Dianne at 756-0400 if you would like to be notified when a workshop is scheduled.

Surfing the Coastline - Coastline is the Coos County Library Network Online Catalog. Learn to search from home by title, author, subject or keyword, to check your account, renew, and request holds.
Basic Internet Searching - This workshop includes understanding what's on the Internet, cautions about websites, moving around in the Internet using a browser, getting directly into websites, and searching for information when you don't know a web address.
Useful Internet Workshops - This workshop focuses on a variety of websites that are useful for finding information, with extra emphasis on health and medical, consumer, and personal finance websites.

Southwestern Oregon Community College - Offers adult non-credit classes to introduce you to Windows, word processing, Internet, Email and more. Classes are in room 204 of the Newmark Center.

Computer Basics I: Beginning Windows

May 2 - Jun 3, MWF, 10:30a.m. - 12:00p.m.
May 23-Jun 9, Mon,Tue,Wed,Thu, 5:30-8:30p.m.

Computer Basics II: Advanced Windows and file management.

May 3 - Jun 3, Tue & Thur, 10:30a.m. - 12:00p.m.

These are only $25 (check or money order only), call 888-7116 for more information or to register. Please sign up; they have to have a minimum of 8 students.
