INTERNET CLASSES AT THE COOS BAY PUBLIC LIBRARY

Special Event!

"FREE" - A BASIC COMPUTER WORKSHOP will again be held at the Coos Bay Library on Friday February 19th from 10 am - 1 pm in the Cedar Room.

This popular workshop is being made available by the "Bay Area Seniors' Computer Club" (BASCC) and the Coos Bay Library. BASCC laptops and members will be available to assist anyone with questions. This is a walk-in, first come, first-serve event. The library workshop is free, no registration needed, and no membership is required. There is no age restriction!

BASCC is a non-profit computer club for seniors. Their goal is to keep their members knowledgeable about computers and offer help as needed. This event is open to all, regardless of age.

So bring in your questions, or even your own laptop, to get the advice or help you need! Don't miss this golden opportunity for some personalized instruction or trouble shooting. Don't let your frustrations fester!

Opportunities in the Area

Bay Area Seniors Computer Club (BASCC) - You must be 50 yrs of age or more to join. Dues are $15 for individuals and $24 for couples per year. Meetings are at the Gloria Dei Lutheran Church on Thompson Ave., on the 1st and 3rd Friday of each month at 9:30 a.m. for the Social Hour and 10:00 a.m. for the meeting. Interested parties may attend one meeting free before joining. See their Web site at www.geocities.com/bayareasrcompclub/ Coquille Valley Senior's Computer Club (CVSCC) - has now joined with and is co-located with the Coquille Seniors Activities Center, which is located at 265 E 1st St. in Coquille. They will be meeting the 2nd and 4th Tuesdays at 7:00 PM. Their first meeting in the new location will be on January 8th, 2008.
Meetings are usually open question and answer sessions unless specific topics have been requested. Membership is open to all seniors who are at least 50 years old. Visitors are welcome. Come visit us or call Bob Kimball (396-4971) for more information.

North Bend Public Library Computer Workshops - Please call Dianne at 756-0400 for a one-on-one demonstration on any of these topics: Dazzling Databases (subscription databases that are provided by the Coos County Libraries), Surfing the Coastline online catalog, and Useful Internet Websites.

Southwestern Oregon Community College - We offer short-term, non-credit computer classes geared towards preparing students for work or to take the CS101 (college) challenge exam. Additional computer classes and/or subjects can be added if there is sufficient interest. Classes are in room 204 of the Newmark Center. Note: Class dates may be modified so be sure to call 888-7116 to register.
