Opportunities in the Area

Bay Area Seniors Computer Club (BASCC) - You must be 50 yrs of age or more to join. Dues are $12 for individuals and $18 for couples per year. Meetings are at the Gloria Dei Lutheran Church on Thompson Ave., and are on the 1st and 3rd Friday of each month at 9:30a.m. for the Social Hour and 10:00a.m. for the meeting. See their Web site at www.bascc.ws/

BASCC offers a variety of classes on an as-needed basis, either at its own computer lab or at other locations. The class size is usually 4-6 learners.

Coquille Valley Senior's Computer Club (CVSCC) - Meets the 2nd and 4th Mondays, at 7 p.m. in the Coquille High School Library. Contact person: Clarence Elliot, 396-1704, caelliott@earthlink.net.

Must be 55+, membership fees are $12.00 per year for singles, $18.00 per year for couples. Feel free to attend a meeting before joining. NOTE: May move to new locations in future where they will be able to offer classes.

North Bend Public Library - Each class is offered every few months. Please call Dianne at 756-0400 if you would like to be notified when a workshop is scheduled.

Southwestern Oregon Community College - Adult non-credit classes to introduce you to Windows, word processing, Internet, Email and more. Classes are in room 204 of the Newmark Center.

Computer Basics I: Beginning Windows

Computer Basics II: Advanced Windows and file management.

These are only $25, call 888-7116 for more information or to register. Please sign up; they have to have a minimum of 8 students.
