SHARING YOUR PHOTOS VIA THE WEB

You take all those great photos and you want to share them. Or perhaps someone is begging to see them but they live too far away. You may have a new digital camera or maybe you've taken your photos to one of the other local stores that will make electronic copies from your negatives and prints. If you are sending to one person or just a few, emailing your photos will work great. But if your images are large and you have a lot of them they may fill up your recipients' email accounts. So if email or snail mail (traditional shipped mail) isn't practical, what are your other options?

File sharing, or in this case "photo sharing," may be the right option once your photos are in electronic format. You can upload them to one of the many sites that offer this service and then share your photos with an unlimited number of people. Many photosharing sites offer additional options or services such as the ability to limit who may view your photos and what they may do with them, provide you or others the ability to order prints of favorites or allow you to add captions and comments to each picture.

The biggest advantage of photo sharing sites is you don't need to be a tech wiz, have your own web site or know how to manage one. These sites make it incredibly easy to move your photo to their site, use their extra features, and share your photos with whomever you like.

So share those pictures of the new baby, new house, new car, or those spectacular nature photos. A picture can be worth a thousand words and help you keep your friends and family involved even when they are far away.
