Pushing the Limits - reading, viewing and discussion series
The library will host a free four-part reading, viewing and discussion series for adults called Pushing the Limits. Pushing the Limits brings together books and video featuring authors, scientists and everyday people who thrive on exploring the natural world.
The first program will be March 28, 2017 at 7pm in the Myrtlewood Room. The focus will be on the book The Land of Painted Caves by Jean Auel and an anthropology focused discussion "Passing the Torch, Knowledge through the Generations" with Denise Wilms. The first 10 people who register for the programs receive a free copy of the book. Stop by the circulation desk to register.
Learn about wellness practices to help live a long, healthy life from Registered Dietitian Stephanie Polizzi. This presentation is based on the book "The Blue Zones" by Dan Buettner. National Geographic Explorer Dan Buettner traveled the globe to uncover the best strategies for longevity found in the Blue Zones: places in the world where higher percentages of people enjoy remarkably long, full lives.
The program is co-sponsored by OSU Extension Service Family and Community Health and is free to the public.
Attendees should be comfortable using a computer mouse and the Internet. They will also need a cell phone, preferably with text message capability. Seating is limited, so pre-registration is required. Call 541-269-1101 or visit the reference desk for more info or to sign up. This is a FREE class!
